Hotel Info
You have SO many options.
The venue is located in the Financial District, which is a safe and convenient (if perhaps a little boring) part of the city. If you want to be as close as possible, try one of these: The Jay Autograph Collection, Hyatt Regency, Club Quarters San Francisco, Omni Hotel, or Hilton San Francisco Financial District. These tend to be on the pricey side, but location is great and you'll have easy walking and/or transportation access to many of the tourist attractions.
The venue is a short walk from Embarcadero station, so you can stay in a different neighborhood or city and as long as you're near a BART or MUNI line, it will be super easy for you to get there.
The majority of San Francisco hotels are in Union Square or SoMa, both of which can be a lot. Feel free to reach out to either of us if you have questions about a specific block or neighborhood. A few hotels we like in Union Square are the Cartwright Hotel (good budget pick), Axiom Hotel, and Hotel Emblem.
If you are going to stay in San Francisco, a couple of important things you should know is that rooms tend to be much smaller than elsewhere and most hotels do not have air conditioning, which usually isn't a problem given our mild weather, but make sure you look at the hotel details if this is important to you.
Oakland is another great option, especially Uptown (where we live), which has easy access to BART. The Kissel, Moxy, and the City Center Marriott are all good options.
If you're looking for a more suburban vibe, consider staying in cities on the peninsula or in the east bay with a BART station (map). Walnut Creek, Dublin, and Millbrae are quiet, safe, and have all the big chains.
If you're considering an airbnb, that opens up so many other possibilities. Let us know what you're looking for and we can help you pick a good neighborhood to be in.
